Dr. Darkazally graduated with distinction from the University of Damascus in Syria in 2002, earning his MD degree. He excelled academically, ranking fourth in his class.

In 2007, Dr. Darkazally completed his residency in internal medicine at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science/Chicago Medical School, as well as the North Chicago VA in Chicago, Illinois. He then specialized in geriatrics through a fellowship at Oakwood Hospital, now known as Beaumont Hospital, in Dearborn, Michigan.
